How a Cold Laser Promotes Healing and Recovery

Technology changes fast.  And new innovations help to keep us safe, healthy, and healing faster.

One advancement that was invented over 50 years ago, but only available to most people recently, is low level laser therapy, also known as cold laser therapy.

This technology is pretty amazing to help your injuries heal faster and more completely.

Check out this short video from your Billings Chiropractor to learn how it works.

How Low Level Laser Therapy Works for You

There’s a ton of science behind this laser, so we’re going to keep it pretty simple so we don’t get too lost in the terms.

Cold lasers are designed to stimulate the mitochondria in your cells.  As we know from high school biology class, the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell… but what’s that even mean?

As the powerhouse, the mitochondria produce all the ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which is the energy that the cell needs.  With this laser therapy, light stimulates the mitochondria and they produce the ATP faster.

Because the cells are now getting the energy they need, they can regenerate and heal your injuries much faster.

It’s kind of like giving your flowers fertilizer.  They’ll bloom with water, but throw in a bit of fertilizer and they bloom faster, larger, and longer.

Injuries can keep coming back if you don’t treat the root of the problem.  And often that root is because your joints are all out of whack.

Poor posture, unsupportive mattresses, sports injuries, or just getting old can move joints around.  When they’re not set up just right, the muscles can get sore trying to pull them back into place.  This can lead to even more problems, or injuries as your body isn’t doing what it’s supposed to be doing.

If you’re injured, have some joint pain, or are struggling with movement, then we should meet!
