Chiropractic Care in Billings helps Hone Upper Body Strength

We use our legs often, and many of us have strong legs.  But sometimes we neglect to hone that upper body.  Even if you’re not a weight lifter, a rock climber, or an athlete that’s really pushing their body to the limits, there is benefit in keeping fit.

Let’s take a look at a few upper body exercises you can do at home that will help you maintain the fitness you need to stave off injuries.

Exercises at Home

It’s not just about aesthetics.  Making sure your muscles are strong and hones can help with injury prevention and overall better physical health.  Try to incorporate these into your daily routine.

Push-Ups – Drop and give me 20!  Can’t do 20 at once?  Okay, 10.  Or even five.  The key is consistency.  Start slow, build your way up, but do them every day.

Planking – No, it’s not that weird internet trend from a decade ago.  Instead, it’s where you are in sort of a push-up position, but you have your elbows bent… just watch this short video to see how it’s done and why it’s great for your core strength.

Resistance Band Rows – Using exercise bands you can do all sorts of great workouts. One of the easiest is the resistance band row.  An exercise like using a rowing machine, but without the machinery.

Dumbbell or Water Bottle Shoulder Presses – Each pint of water weighs roughly 1 pound.  A gallon is 8.34 pounds.  Use that info however you need to when you do shoulder presses to keep those upper arms toned and strong.

Tricep Dips – Using a sturdy chair, you can do tricep dips to keep the back of the arms strong.  As you get stronger, you can add weight to your lap to increase resistance.

Chiropractic Care for the Upper Body

A chiropractor can come into play when you want to prevent injury or if you’re healing from an injury.  Before you get hurt, your local chiropractor will make sure your joints are all in place.  Then, your body will function optimally.

However, overdoing it is overdoing it.  If you are injured, working with your chiropractor will help to ensure that rehabilitation goes much more smoothly than it could if you try to go it alone.
